PESHAWAR: First group of 27 individuals including parents of martyred and injured students and staff members of the Army Public School (APS) left for Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah.
The Umra is one of the initiatives taken by Pakistan Army, besides other measures to comfort the families of martyred and injured students and staff members.
The members of 27 families left for Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah while remaining individuals would travel in eight subsequent flights. A detailed religious briefing and interactive session was also arranged for the pilgrims prior to their departure. The group was seen off by senior officials of Pak Army at the airport.
