KASUR: Fifteen students and a teacher suffered injuries in a roof collapse at Nizampura Road in Sadr police limits on Friday.
The Class 9 students were taking their class at a private school when the roof of their classroom collapsed. As a result, teacher Abid Ali, and students, including Sadia, Sobia, Khizra, Maryam, Maimoona, Anam, Rabia, Kinza, Aqsa, and Samar, suffered injuries.
The injured students and the teacher were shifted to a private hospital from where Sadia, Sobia and Khizra were referred to the Lahore General Hospital due to their critical condition. On information, DCO Adnan Arshad Aulakh reached the spot and sealed the school. The DCO constituted a three-member inquiry committee comprising Additional District Collector Muhammad Shahid, District Officer Coordination Muhammad Rafiq and Education EDO Zulfiqar Ahmad. The inquiry team would also report the DCO about the condition of other private schools in the district to take action against the owners of the schools.
