FAISALABAD: Five people, including a woman and her daughter, were killed in separate road accidents here on Tuesday.
Jan Muhammad, a truck conductor, was killed when his vehicle overturned near Kamalpur Interchange. In another incident, motorcyclist Muhammad Hussain of Rasoolpura was crushed to death by a speeding car near a bypass. The car driver, Atta Muhammad, also sustained serious injuries in the accident. An unidentified motorcyclist was killed by a speedy car on Canal Road near Wapda Town. An unidentified woman and her daughter were killed when a dumper hit their rickshaw at Millat Chowk.
CHEQUES DISTRIBUTED: City Police Officer (CPO) Athar Ismail on Tuesday distributed cheques worth Rs 6.3 million among the widows of martyred police officials.
Addressing the ceremony, the CPO paid rich tributes to the martyred cops who sacrificed their lives while fighting against terrorists and notorious criminals.
The CPO said that his doors would always remained open for the family members of martyred cops.
