LAHORE/KASUR: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz on Monday asked Asif Ali Zardari to bring back the looted money and apologise to the nation. He said Zardari, who had looted the nation with both hands, was claiming that he would bring back the looted money. “It is better for Mr Zardari to apologise to the nation and bring back the looted money. If Almighty Allah granted us an opportunity, we shall bring back the looted money from any part of the world,” said the chief minister who was talking to media inaugurating the latest CT scan machine at the DHQ Hospital, Kasur. He also blasted Imran Khan, advising him to shun the politics of sit-in, U-turns and agitation. “I wish Imran Niazi had not wasted four and a half years of the nation through sit-in, U-turns and agitation. He has also misled the youth and followed the politics of threats and allegations. The foul language used by him in public meetings is condemnable. He has tried to change the collective temperament of the nation. He would have not seen this day, had he not done the politics of lies, U-turns and allegations,” said Shahbaz.
He said the Sunday's rally in Peshawar reflected the popularity of the ruling party. "If there is any political party or leadership that has served this province, it is the PML-N. The rally in Peshawar yesterday is a reflection of this," he said.
About gruesome Kasur incident, the chief minister said: “It’s a request of the entire nation to the courts that if the law allows, the convict should be hanged at any roundabout of Lahore or Kasur so that the entire world could see it.”
He announced to name schools in the memory of the children murdered by the suspect who is stated to be a serial killer. Shahbaz said the role of Punjab police and Punjab Forensic Science Agency was as it worked day and night and traced the accused of eight minor girls within 14 days.
The chief minister said he had apologised and expressed regret to the families of eight minor girls who were being kidnapped, raped and murdered brutally. He said he waited for two weeks for the arrest of main accused Imran and then visited Kasur to see the affected families. Earlier, Shahbaz held a meeting with the victim’s parents and other family members and assured them of providing justice. On his way back to Lahore, the chief minister landed his helicopter near Mustafabad and paid a surprise visit to a brick kiln. He expressed his anger over children doing physical labour and ordered the official concerned to take legal action against the owner who was arrested later.
