ISLAMABAD: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) has given a last chance to the top official of the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) to appear before the court on February 6 along with all the required documents.
A two-member PHC bench comprising Justice Rooh ul Amin Khan and Justice Mohammad Ayub Khan have taken serious notice of the PHF official’s absence even after repeated summons and has given him one last chance to appear before the court on Tuesday.
At one stage during the hearing, both judges observed that why the federation should not be suspended for repeated failures to appear in person and produce necessary documents before the court.
“The respondent No 2 (PHF president) should appear in person before the court. We would like to hear from respondent No 2 all the details of audit report, minutes of the Congress meeting and the federation’s working,” the court observed.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Hockey Association Secretary Zahir Shah has moved the PHC to seek justice against the alleged unconstitutional steps taken by the PHF officials during the period when the PHF president was ill and later when the Congress meeting was held.
