Inter-Divisional Boys’ Hockey C’ship in April
LAHORE: Secretary Sports Punjab Aamir Jan said that Sports Board Punjab (SBP) will organise Punjab Inter-Divisional U-16 (Boys) Hockey Championship in April this year. Secretary Sports Punjab Aamir Jan made this announcement at a key meeting at National Hockey Stadium on Wednesday.
The meeting was attended by Director Sports Anees Sheikh, Divisional Sports Officer Multan, Rana Nadeem Anjum, Director Domestic Development PHF Olympian Naveed Alam, Secretary Punjab Hockey Association Lt-Col (retd) Asif Naz Khokhar, senior coach Shahid Nizami and all divisional sports officers of the province.
Addressing the meeting, Secretary Sports Punjab said Pakistan has plenty of hockey talent and the Punjab Inter-Divisional U-16 (Boys) Hockey Championship will be a suitable platform for promising hockey players of the province to show their talent. “Sports Board Punjab will continue to provide such opportunities to youth of the province in future as well,” he added.
Aamir Jan informed that top players from all the divisions of the province will take part in the championship.Five District Sports Officers approved for promotion: Secretary Sports Punjab Aamir Jan presided over a meeting of Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) of Sports Department Punjab at Punjab Stadium the other day.
During the meeting, five District Sports Officers have been approved for promotion from grade 17 to 18 to the post of Divisional Sports Officers. Additional Secretary Sports Zahid Hussain, Director Admin Javed Rasheed Chohan and other top officers attended the meeting. The five District Sports Officers who were recommended for promotion include Rana Nadeem Anjum Khan, Tariq Nazir, Waqar Hussain, Akbar Murad and Nadim Qaiser.
