Pakistan is an agricultural country and a majority of its exports are mostly agriculture output. The agriculture sector plays a vital role in the progress of the country and significantly contributes to the prosperity of the poor. A developed agriculture sector will positively affect the whole economy because all other industries are directly or indirectly depended on it. If we want to make most of the agriculture sector, we need to pay serious attention to the plight of the farmer community. Farmers are working hard to increase output, despite having scarce resources. Our government has to carry out extra work for the development of the sector. Many farmers couldn’t bring their agriculture output because there is no road link from their remote villages to cities.
The government must start working on the development of the sector. As a result of agricultural progress, all other industries will progress as well. This is because the agricultural output will provide required raw material to industries. As a result, the industries will produce more goods which will be bough in both local and international markets. The balance of payment will be in favour of Pakistan. More funds will be available for development projects and employment opportunities will be created for the unemployed. Agricultural progress will also have a positive effect on farmers’ standard of living. If they will be able to sell their output at good rates, they will be in a better option to spend on their children’s health, education, food, clothes and shoes.
