LAHORE: Fog continued to engulf the city in early and late hours here Monday while Met office predicted similar weather conditions for the next 24 hours.
Met officials said a westerly wave is affecting upper/western parts of the country and may persist until Wednesday. They predicted that cloudy weather may persist in upper parts of the country, including Quetta division. They predicted that rain-thunderstorm (with snowfall over the hills) is expected at scattered places in Malakand, Hazara, Mardan divisions, Fata, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, while at isolated places in Bannu, Peshawar, Kohat, Sargodha, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala divisions, Islamabad. Dense fog is likely to occur in plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh during morning and night hours.
Rainfall was recorded at Kalam (03mm) and Chitral (Trace), Met officials said, adding Monday’s minimum temperature was recorded at Skardu where mercury dropped down to -07°C. In Lahore, maximum temperature was 17°C, minimum was 6°C and humidity level was 47 percent.
