10 marriage halls sealed in Rawalpindi
Rawalpindi: Punjab Food Authority (PFA) in its crackdowns against poor quality food suppliers in wedding ceremonies have sealed ten marriage halls in different districts of the province. According to PFA Director General (DG) Noor-ul-Amin Mengal, the PFA in order to ensure supply of quality food to the people conducting raids and checking cleanliness situation and quality of ingredients being used to cook food.
He said strict action in accordance with the law is taken on violation of rules. He said in recent raids conducted in Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot and Jhelum 46 marriage halls were imposed heavy fines while 351 were issued notices. The authority had started proper surveillance of the marriage halls to ensure quality and hygiene of food, proper cleanliness in the marriage halls, he said adding, only license holders would be allowed to run catering company.
