MARDAN: The police have failed to arrest the accused involed in the rape and murder of a minor girl, Aasma, who went missing on January 13 from the Gujjar Garhi area and was found dead the next day.
Two-hundred people have been questioned and their DNA samples were collected, police said, adding that a forensic report was being awaited.
According to Mardan DPO Mian Saeed, about six to eight suspects had been detained and were being questioned.
Mian Saeed also said that the services of a psychologist were also being acquired to track down the suspect. Aasma’s family was also being questioned, he added.
Mian Saeed said that the postmortem report showed that the four-year-old Aasma was strangled to death, adding that the report did not point out any sign of sexual assault.

The police sources said that it was the routine matter to contact or take help of the police of other provinces.
