LAHORE: Light rain accompanied with a cold breeze was observed in the city on Tuesday while Met Office predicted similar weather situations for the next 24 hours.
Light rain started at scattered places early morning and continued till night. Cold breeze blew in the city throughout the day and brought down highest temperature to 12°C from the previous day’s 18°C. Humidity level increased to 82 percent.
Met officials said continental air was prevailing over most parts of the country. A shallow westerly wave is still present over northeastern parts of Punjab, Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan and the adjoining areas.
They predicted that mainly cold and dry weather was expected in most parts of the country while fog is likely to prevail in a few plain areas of Punjab and Upper Sindh during the morning hours.
Rainfall was recorded in Lahore, 1mm, Kasur, trace, Jaccobabad, trace and Quetta trace. Tuesday’s lowest temperature was recorded at Skardu where mercury dropped to -10°C. In Lahore, lowest temperature was 7°C.
