Classic Football League: Nasir wants organisers to contact depts
KARACHI: Former Pakistan assistant coach Nasir Ismail on Tuesday showed reservations over the procedure adopted by the organisers of the Classic Football League (CFL) to contact departmental players directly for the event which is expected to be held in August in Karachi.
“Contacting the players directly is not the right way. The organisers should contact the heads of the departments,” Nasir told ‘The News’.Nasir, who is the head coach of National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) football team, said that the organisers should hold a press conference and give details about their actual plan, incentives for players, the committees formed for the purpose and then they should start contacting the departments.
“I don’t think the departments will refuse to issue NOCs to their players but the organisers at least should clear the picture,” Nasir said. When an organiser of the CFL was contacted by this correspondent he said that he did not think there was anything inappropriate in the process. “It is obvious that we will not be able to get players without NOC from their parent departments,” the organiser said. “We are working professionally,” the official said.
