Speed climbing wall opened
Islamabad: Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada inaugurated a speed climbing wall here at the Sports Complex on Tuesday.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest, the federal minister said he was happy to see another sports facility added to the Sports Complex, which would promote climbing. He congratulated the Alpine Club of Pakistan and Pakistan Sports Board for the completion of sports climbing wall here at Sports Complex.
The minister said the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination and Pakistan Sports Board would fully cooperate for the promotion of climbing in country. He said the government also hoped that the Alpine Club of Pakistan will also play its role for the promotion of speed climbing and earns good name for country by participating in international competitions.
"The government will provide full support for holding international events of climbing in Pakistan, he said. We will also help Alpine of Club of Pakistan for establishing training academy at Sports Complex," he said. The minister also lauded the positive role of the media for the promotion of sports in the country. Secretary of the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination Syed Abu Ahmad Akif and Director General of the Pakistan Sports Board Akhtar Nawaz Ganjera were also present on the occasion.
