BAHRAIN: Speaker of Bahraini Parliament Ahmed Bin Ebrahim Al Mullah has appreciated the outstanding role played by Ambassador Javed Malik in strengthening and expanding the bilateral diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Bahrain.
He was speaking during his meeting with Pakistan’s Ambassador Javed Malik in presence of Deputy Speaker Ali Al Aradi and other members of parliament.
The Speaker said that Pakistan and Bahrain shared a historic relationship that was bolstered by the mutual love and brotherhood between people and the governments. He recalled that during the term of Ambassador Javed Malik, two parliamentary delegations were exchanged which opened the doors for new opportunities of cooperation and closer people-to-people contacts.
While thanking the speaker, Javed Malik said that parliamentary linkages were an essential part of modern day diplomacy and therefore during his tenure in Bahrain, two high-level parliamentary delegations were exchanged between both countries.
Pakistani parliamentarians, led by National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, visited Bahrain in November 2016; whereas, a high-level Bahraini parliamentary delegation, led by Chairman Shura Council (Upper House) Ali Bin Saleh Al Saleh, visited Pakistan in September 2017.
Ambassador Javed Malik said, “Following these visits, the Pakistan-Bahrain Parliamentary Friendship Societies have also been activated which would go a long way in further consolidating our ties.”
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Speaker Ali Al Aradi also expressed his appreciation for the services of Ambassador Javed Malik and said that Bahrain and Pakistan would continue to remain closely engaged at every level in light of the vision of the leadership of both countries.
