Rulers’ tall claimsof good governance exposed: Siraj
LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Senator Sirajul Haq said the shadows of uncertainty on 2018 elections were enlarging with every passing day and all political parties should unite on the Constitution to steer the country out of any troubling situation.
Addressing the JI central working committee at Mansoora on Monday, Sirajul Haq said elections should be held according to schedule and should be free, fair and transparent and no unconstitutional step should be tolerated in any case. He said entire nation should be readied to face the US and it should be made clear to Trump and the world at large that the situation in Afghanistan was worsening due to the presence of the US/ NATO forces there. He said no nation or country could be put on the right path through armed invasion as this would always lead to destruction. He said world community should press for the eviction of the external forces from Afghanistan. He told the rulers that instead of relying on the US, we should be careful about Trump’s designs.
Sirajul Haq said if the elections were not held on schedule, an unconstitutional situation would crop up in the country and may lead to political instability. He said political parties should not resort to any expediency in this score. He said killers of Zainab had not been traced even after a week which had increased sense of insecurity among the people and a question mark had been raised regarding the efficiency of the police. The rulers’ tall claims of good governance had exposed and the parents felt afraid of sending their children to schools.
Meanwhile, JI Secretary General Liaqat Baloch while addressing JI financial committee at Mansoora, said parliamentary democracy in the country was facing serious threats due to the failure of the governments and the irresponsible attitude of the political leadership. Liaqat Baloch said US, India and Israel coalition was emerging as a hard fact in the region and the Indian and Israeli prime ministers were totally against the Muslim world. He said that Pakistan could face the challenge only through its unity and a strong democratic system. He said the culprits behind Kasur tragedy had not been arrested which had exposed the police, investigation and the entire system.
