National Library gets Braille Corner

Islamabad: Adviser to the prime minister on national history and literary heritage Irfan Siddiqui on Thursday inaugurated the Braille Corner (Gausha-i-Noor) at the National Library of Pakistan here. Located in G-5 sector next to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, the NLP is the country’s largest knowledge resource centre as well as fountain head of the national library developments. During the inauguration ceremony, the adviser said initially, more than 50 books had been placed in the Braille Corner, including the Holy Quran. He said the facility would have computers until June. “We’ve purchased new machines to publish more books for the sightless people so that the network could expand across the country,” he said.
