Trump’s inconsiderate remarks have made a mockery of Pakistan’s contributions towards the war on terror. We have lost more than 60,000 people, including civilians, in this fight. Militancy in Pakistan has created a havoc and the country is still finding ways to cope with this menace. Hundreds of thousands of families have been destroyed. Thousands of people have been displaced. But for the American president, this sacrifice doesn’t hold much importance. He still wants the country to ‘do more.’
Our tireless efforts to bring peace to the region shouldn’t be ignored by the world. Trump’s allegations are baseless. We have contributed a lot towards eradicating terrorism from the region. Enemies of Pakistan can try tarnishing the country’s image, but their efforts will go in vain.
