Sub-engineers stage protest in Mardan
MARDAN: The sub-engineers on Thursday staged a protest to press the government to accept their demands.
Led by Abdali Shah, Divisional president of All Sub-Engineer Association (SEA) and other office-bearers, the sub-engineers belonging to different departments gathered at the Mardan Press Club.
The participants of the rally were holding placards and banners inscribed with slogans in favour of their demands. The participants of the rally expressed the resolve that they would continue to stage rallies till the acceptance of their demands.
Talking to reporters, the representatives of the sub-engineers said that they were appointed through Public Service Commission (PSC) in different departments on BS-11.
“There is no system of promotion. A sub-engineer retires on the same scale,” lamented one of the engineers.
They added that the provincial government upgraded 75,800 employees of different departments and ignored 950 sub-engineers.
The protesters set up a protest camp outside the post-graduate college at Bacha Khan Chowk in favour of their demands.
