Another dies of H1N1 in Multan

MULTAN: One more H1N1 influenza virus death has been reported here on Thursday, increasing the death toll to 19. Twelve more H1N1 influenza virus suspects have been admitted to south Punjab hospitals in last 24 hours. Maryam, 45, of Multan died on Thursday. Six new virus suspects have been admitted to Nishtar Hospital, reaching the number of suspects from 81 to 87. Three more suspects were admitted to Khanewal hospitals, increasing the number of suspects from 11 to 14. With three suspects in Muzaffargarh, toll of total virus suspects has reached 17 from 14. No new suspect has been reported in Vehari, Toba Tek Singh, Lodhran, Rajanpur, Layyah, Rahimyar Khan, Jhang and Sahiwal. Rahimyar Khan district stands at second where only two suspects have been received since the virus attacked the south Punjab districts. The districts of Rajanpur and Lodhran stand at third number where only three suspects have been received. Official statistics have showed that the H1N1 suspects have continuously been increasing in Multan, Khanewal band Muzaffargarh. The health authorities have recommended in-depth investigation in virus prone districts. However, the Multan district has been marked as the highest mortality rate where 13 deaths have been reported so far. Three deaths have been reported in Muzaffargarh and one each in Vehari and Rajanpur respectively.
