Pakistan doesn’t need US dollars: Siraj
PESHAWAR: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Senator Sirajul Haq said on Wednesday that Pakistan didn’t need any financial assistance from the US.
“Pakistanis are a dignified nation and they know how to stand tall among the comity of nations. We want to make it clear to [US President] Donald Trump that Pakistanis don’t need his support,” Sirajul Haq told Students Expo 2018 organised by the Islami Jamiat-i-Talaba at Nishtar Hall here.
He lashed out at former president General (Retd) Pervez Musharraf, saying he was responsible for killings in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Fata and Balochistan and he would soon land in the Adiala Jail.
The JI chief questioned the silence of the Supreme Court in the Panama Papers case after disqualification of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif. “This is only because of the policies of our rulers that even cowards are hurling threats at Pakistan. We have to fight those who have captured the resources of the Muslims,” Sirajul Haq vowed.
He added that youth was the asset to the country and they were able to steer Pakistan towards prosperity. “The only way to pull the country out of the prevailing situation is an Islamic revolution. After the rulers have disappointed the general public, people have no option left but to vote for the establishment of Islamic system in Pakistan,” he said.
He vowed that the JI would establish Islamic system and would fight for its image all over the world. “After coming into power, the JI will introduce a system where a poor and rich will be equal in getting all the basic rights, including education, health, jobs and development,” said Sirajul Haq.
The JI chief added they would continue their fight against corruption and corrupt elements. “We will introduce a uniform education system across the country where children of rich and poor will get equal opportunities. We have already completed our homework,” he declared.
Sirajul Haq criticised the rulers for failing to protect the life and property of the general public, saying this was the reason that Kasur-like incidents were taking place. He demanded arrest of the accused in the murder case of eight-year old Zainab belonging to Kasur.
Senior Minister Inayatullah, JI provincial chief Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, Shahkar Aziz, Hassan Bashir and others also addressed the expo.
