PESHAWAR: The police have arrested three persons in Chamkani for constantly refusing to get children vaccinated against polio, an official said.
The police and health staff carried out a campaign in Chamkani, where Abdul Wahab, Ashraf and Abdul Mateen were arrested.
The officials said they were arrested for refusing to administer anti-polio drops to their children during the last several vaccination campaigns.
It has been learnt that dozens of arrest warrants were issued in Peshawar and other towns for those who had refused vaccinating their kids against polio. The official said police and district administration have been directed to go after these people.
Bombing bid foiled in Peshawar: The bomb disposal unit on Saturday defused an improvised explosive device (IED) planted near a government college on Dora Road here.
Police said the IED was planted on the roadside near the Government Superior Science College in the limits of Agha Mir Jani Shah Police Station.
