ISLAMABAD: Kamran Albert Masih and Muhammad Hamza Ilyas upset seeded players in the pre-quarter-finals of the Jubilee Insurance 3rd National Junior Under-18 Snooker Championship here at PSB Billiards & Snooker Hall of Pakistan Sports Complex Tuesday.
Shahzaib Malik, Sheikh Muhammad Muddassir, Ahsan Ramzan, Shaharyar Abbas, Umer Khan and Hamza Ilyas of Punjab while Muhammad Rafey of Sindh and Kamran of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa moved into the quarter-finals.
Kamran sent No 3 seed Muhammad Rafiq (KP) packing 4-2. Rafiq — last year’s semi-finalist — was one of the favourites as he represented Pakistan in the Asian Junior Under-21 Snooker Championship held last year in Chandigarh.
Thirteen-year-old promising Hamza Ilyas of Lahore then outplayed fourth seed Yasir Ahmed of Balochistan 4-0.
