KARACHI: Pakistan Football Federation’s (PFF) legal counsel almost completed his arguments at the Lahore High Court (LHC) during the hearing of the football case on Tuesday.
‘The News’ learnt that PFF lawyer Afzal Khan argued for one hour and ten minutes before the division bench comprising Justice Ayesha Malik and Justice Jawad Hasan. Afzal gave a detailed account of what has happened in the PFF since 2012.
He presented a copy of the minutes of the PFF Congress held in 2012 in which the body had unanimously decided that if Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) did not reverse its decision of implementing the tenure-restriction clause, the PFF must disaffiliate itself from the board, which was a subordinate body working under the ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC).
Afzal also submitted with the bench a notification of the PSB under which the PFF automatically stood disaffiliated from the board. The PSB lawyers in previous hearing had argued that the PFF had not disaffiliated from the PSB. The proceedings were adjourned till Thursday (tomorrow). FIFA suspended Pakistan in October last year for third party interference.
