MULTAN: All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) has announced holding a public meeting here on January 25.
APML chief Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf will address the meeting via telephone. APML south Punjab chapters have launched a mass mobilisation campaign at the union council level to activate party chapters. Addressing a press conference on Monday, APML central vice president Mirza Farooq Jan said the party was holding corner meetings and mobilising the people for public meeting. “The Multan public meeting would be historic and set trends in politics,” he claimed. Criticising the PML-N and PPP, he alleged that the PPP had remained involved in massive corruption and shifted the national wealth abroad by plundering the country and the PML-N is also toeing the PPP’s line. Criticising ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif, he said those who had been branded as culprits by the Supreme Court were raising slogans of their immaculateness. “The APML workers have hectically been involved in public meeting preparations as the former president will chalk out his priorities in Multan public meeting. APML chairman president Pervez Musharraf will address the public meeting through video link from abroad,” he added. Farooq said the PML-N-led governments at Centre and Punjab had failed in providing relief to the citizens at any level. “The country made historic progress under the rule of Pervez Musharraf,” he claimed.
