Late Air Marshal Asghar Khan (r) will be remembered as a patriotic, honest and devoted figure. To many, he was someone who possessed a larger-than-life character. His ideas on the economy and foreign policies were revolutionary and pragmatic. Despite his military background, he always advocated that Pakistan should be a welfare state.
He firmly believed in a policy of non-interference in the internal matters of other countries and emphasised cordial relations with the neighbouring countries. He never used manipulative tactics to win elections. He entered politics to serve Pakistan as a reformer and leader. With his death, the country has lost a dedicated and visionary person.
