Road rage
The number of accidents on the road from Mianwali to Esa Khel have been increasing at a fast pace. Fatal road accidents have become a daily occurrence. Last Wednesday (Jan 3), a collision between a motorcycle and a van resulted in the death of two young boys who were riding the motorcycle. The violation of traffic laws, including speeding and racing, is one of the primary causes of frequent road accidents.
Motorcyclists are more vulnerable to road accidents. For them, the use of helmet is quite helpful in avoiding serious injuries. This problem cannot be resolved unless the authorities take remedial measures to improve road safety. The vigilant traffic police can reduce the number of casualties by enforcing traffic rules and by compounding the vehicles found violating these rules. In the same way, the traffic police should initiate an awareness campaign to educate the people about the significance of taking road safety precautions.
