Pervaiz Khattak hosts conference: DPC leaders urge Muslims to unite against conspiracies
PESHAWAR: Terming the US President Donald Trump’s threat as declaration of war against Pakistan, the leaders of various political parties on Sunday urged the Muslim world to get united and foil the conspiracies against Islam.
They were speaking at the “Tahaffuz-e-Baitul Muqqadas Conference” organized by the Difa-e-Pakistan Council (DPC) at the Dilazak Chowk here.
Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed of AwamI Muslim League, Professor Hafiz Abdur Rehman Makki, Sahibzada Dr Abul Khair Muhammad Zubair, Ajmal Khan Wazir, Maulana Fazlur Rehman Khalil, Professor Muhammad Ibrahim of Jamaat-i-Islami (JI), Safiullah Khalid and others spoke at the conference.
The DPC leaders spoke in support of the Kashmiris and Palestinians and criticised the government of Punjab for not allowing Hafiz Muhammad Saeed to attend the moot in Peshawar. However, Hafiz Muhammad Saeed addressed the conference on phone.
The speakers also condemned the Punjab government’s actions against Jamatud Dawa and its charity wing, Falah-e-Insaniyat Foundation. In his address, DPC head Maulana Samiul Haq said that the rulers would be held responsible in case the US attacked Pakistan.
He said that the Cabinet Committee on National Security had passed a resolution to quit the US alliance, but the rulers did not pay attention to it.
He said that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) had consistently ignored national interests and continued promoting the US agenda.
“Nawaz Sharif had promised changing policies before the general election in 2013 but he didn’t. Instead he continued the policies of the previous government,” he said, adding that Pakistan continued fighting others’ war. He said that all stakeholders started disowning the war when the issue of 33 billion dollars of US aid to Pakistan came to fore.
Maulana Samiul Haq, who is also head of the JUI-S and the Darul Uloom Haqqania madrassa, said that Pakistan had lost 5,000 soldiers and 70,000 civilians in the so-called war on terror. “Pakistan’s roads were destroyed in these 15 years as these were used by heavy trucks and trailers taking supplies to Nato troops in Afghanistan. We organised ‘long march’ to halt Nato supplies but the rulers continued serving their masters,” he maintained.
He also blasted the rulers of Pakistani for handing over American spy Ramond David to the US.
He warned the US of dire consequences if it attacked Pakistan. “The US faced a humiliating defeat in Afghanistan and Pakistan would become another graveyard for American soldiers,” he declared.
He said the nation would support its armed forces in every situation.
Regarding the Al-Quds issue, Maulana Samiul Haq said that none of the Muslim rulers had taken a bold stance on the question of Jerusalem following the US decision to move its embassy there and recognize it as Israel’s capital. The DPC chairman said that declaration of jihad by the state was not necessary, arguing that jihad became an obligation for every Muslim in such a situation.
He said that Kashmir and Palestine could be liberated only through jihad, adding, that objective of the DPC was to fight the occupation forces.
He said that the former US president had sent a delegation that had demanded removal of the blasphemy clauses from the constitution of Pakistan. However, he said he had made it clear to the US delegation that Pakistan was an Islamic country and Pakistanis would not allow the transformation of their country into a liberal one.
Chief Minister Pervez Khattak congratulated the organisers of the conference and said the DPC had raised voice whenever international forces ganged up against Pakistan.
He condemned the conspiracies against Pakistan and vowed that the nation would respond to any kind of threats.
Jamatud Dawa chief Hafiz Muhammad Saeed in his telephonic talk said that the US and India wanted to deprive Pakistan of its nuclear assets. He said that the enemies of Pakistan would be defeated on every front.
“The people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had suffered the most due to terrorism and had rendered huge sacrifices for Pakistan. I hope they would continue to serve their country,” he said.
He maintained that DPC would unite all the parties for the security and protection of Pakistan and would foil the conspiracies of the enemies.
Speaking on the occasion, Awami Muslim League leader Shaikh Rashid Ahmed claimed that Pakistan was in a critical situation due to the presence and conspiracies of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s apologists in the country.
“Thieves were ruling the country and were trying to make Pakistan a satellite state of the US,” he alleged. He predicted that the country would be rid of the corrupt and inefficient rulers.
