TIMERGARA: Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP)-Headquarter and in-charge of driving trials, Fakhr-e-Alam, said on Sunday that 49,000 computerised driving licences had been issued in Lower Dir district.
Talking to The News, he said that District Police Officer Nowsher Khan had directed him to facilitate the process of driving licences. He said that on Wednesday each week had been fixed for trials at the Timergara police lines. He said the process had been made transparent and driving licences were being issued purely on merit. He said the Lower Dir police would soon start a crackdown against underage and unlicensed driving in the district. Appreciating the progress of Lower Dir traffic police, the DSP said that a total of 190,921 vehicles were ticketed during the year 2017 and Rs52.176 million received in fines.
