Qadri asks US to reconsider criticism of Pakistan
LAHORE: PAT chief Dr Tahirul Qadri has asked the US think tank to reconsider its criticism against Pakistan which rendered greatest sacrifices in the war on terrorism. Addressing a press conference on Friday,
Qadri said Pakistan was the only country whose military was utilizing 75pc of its resources to eliminate terrorism. He said Pakistan was an independent and responsible country that enjoyed equal respect in the global community and no one could threaten it. He pressed all institutions of Pakistan to enhance their diplomatic efforts for the sake of sacrifices given in the war against terrorism, and take the world into confidence. He said protection of state interests was the priority of the Pakistani nation. The PAT chief urged the world to realize that Pakistan had been sheltering millions of Afghan refugees for over three decades and asked what had been the role of the US and India in this regard. “Is only Pakistan responsible for the restoration of peace in this region. It is sheer injustice to link terrorism with a specific country, region or culture” he said, adding that despite spending trillions of dollars, the US failed to prevent terrorist incidents in its own areas like Dallas, California and Las Vegas.
