The 64th annual flower show opened at the Sea View Park on Thursday.
The Horticultural Society Pakistan (HSP) and Cantonment Board Clifton (CBC) have join hands in holding the four-day event to remain open for general public till March 1.
HSP President Lt. General (Retd) Jahanzaib Arbab was the chief guest at the colourful inaugural ceremony that attracted visitors in large numbers. Naval band played its melodies while several garden furniture and outdoor lighting stalls at the venue lifted up the ambiance with introduction of a food court.
The hosts also arranged competitions in which the visitors took keen interest. The CBC Horticulture Branch was victorious in many events, including the Champions Trophy.
After winning the trophy, Executive officer CBC Shahrome Safdar Khattak said the efforts by the HSP in giving cleaner and greener environment to Karachi was commendable. He emphasised that competitions like flower show was lively activity and help in promotion of positive and healthy trends in society.
