Nameer to face Ali in tennis final
KARACHI: Nameer Shamsi is to face Ali Mooraj in the final of men’s singles of Multi-minds Open Tennis Championship at Creek Club here on Saturday (today). In the second semi-final of the category, Nameer of Shamsi Tennis Academy beat Vinot Das 6-1, 6-3. Duraf Das beat Rania 8-4 in the under-9 semi-finals.
In the under-13 semi-final, Taha Aman beat Muzamil Hyder 6-2, 6-2. The final of under-15 was won by Rayyan Jawad who defeated Ashar Mir 7-5, 6-4. In the juniors’ under-17 semi-final, Rayyan overpowered M Ali 1-6, 6-2, 12-10.
In Soft Tennis semi-finals, Eibad Sarwar beat Usama Saeed 5-1 and Robin Das defeated Vinod Das 5-2. In men’s doubles semi-final, Nasir and Vinot beat Khalid and Oanudddin 8-0. The closing ceremony of the event will be held on Saturday at 4 pm. As much as Rs50,000 will be distributed among the winners and runner ups of various events.
