7 hurt in successive bomb blasts in Chaman
ISLAMABAD: At least seven people, including security officials, were injured on Monday morning in back to back bomb blasts on Chaman’s Mall Road.
According to private news channel the police informed that the first blast occurred near the office of the Special Branch on Mall Road in which one person was injured. Officials said the bomb, a time-bound explosive, was placed inside construction material next to the Special Branch office.
As security forces reached the site of the first blast, a second explosion occurred. In the second blast, which occurred near a police picket close to the place of the first incident, around seven people were injured, including officials of police, Frontier Corps and Levies.
The injured have been shifted to Civil Hospital and are said to be out of danger. A police vehicle, motorcycle and rickshaw were damaged in the blast. Law Enforcement Agencies cordoned off the area and launched a search operation following the incident.
