PESHAWAR: Women at a public forum on Thursday urged for end to gas loadshedding and complained about the sale of substandard cosmetics on a high price.
The district administration had organised the public forum for women to listen to their problems and get their input for solution of the hardships they were faced with in their routine life at the Government Technical and Occasion Centre for Women in Gulbahar.
Additional Assistant Commissioner Sara Tawab Umar, Sub-divisional Education Officers Farast Mumtaz, Nizakat Tabssum, Agriculture Officer Shawana Ahmad, Senior Medical Officer Dr Ghazala and others were present and heard the problems were being faced by the domestic women.
The women said that the gas loadshedding and its low pressure amplified their hardships and they were facing sever hardships in preparing breakfast and cooking meal and demanded end to the practice.
They complained that there was no check and balance system to check the prices of cosmetics, adding shopkeepers selling low quality and substandard make-up items on a high price. They asked the administration to issue a price list for cosmetics to provide relief to the women.
They also expressed concern over the 'rising' incidents of robberies in Gulbahar locality and urged for deployment of more cops in the area.
