Tahirul Qadri lauds Benazir
LAHORE : Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri has termed slain PPP Chairperson Benazir Bhutto a political identity of Pakistan in the world, and said her martyrdom was a huge loss to the nation since her political journey was based on peace, development and stability. In a statement on the 10th death anniversary of Mohtarama Benazir Bhutto, Dr Qadri said he still had vivid memories of joint political struggle with Benazir Bhutto, adding that she was a life-member of Minhaj-ul-Quran International and would often visit its central secretariat. Qadri said BB was an honorable and seasoned politician who struggled hard for the establishment of real democracy in the country and suffered many hardships during her journey.
Qadri said terrorism had inflicted incalculable loss on the country and undermined political, economic and diplomatic interests. He said that the whole nation and the political forces would have to work jointly for the elimination of terrorism. He said that the sacrifices rendered by BB formed a glorious chapter of the national history of Pakistan.
