Qaim praises late Justice Rana Bhagwandas

Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah said the late Justice (retd) Rana Bhagwandas was a man of integrity who enjoyed an unchallenged reputation and the country needed more people of his calibre.
Talking to the media on Wednesday outside the resident of late Rana Bhagwandas where he had paid a visit to condole with his family, the chief minister said the late jurist was a role model for everyone.
“He was a strict constitutionalist who always fought consistently for equal rights for all citizens regardless of their beliefs,” said the chief minister. “Rana Bhagwandas earned his high standing as a man never willing to compromise on principles. His competence was recognised both within and outside the country. He always spoke, but through his pen.”
The chief minister also expressed the hope that successors of the late justice will follow in his footprints.

Governor’s rule
Responding to a question about comments made by MNA Nabeel Gabol about political change in the province, the chief minister ruled out the notion with the remark that the politician should deal with his own affairs. He said the Sindh government had given an exemplary performance in the past six years and expressed the resolve to keep it up in the future.
