PROVINCIAL Minister for Population Welfare Begum Zakia Shahnawaz distributed cheques of Rs.15,000 each as dowry fund among 75 deserving women.
On the instructions of the Punjab government, the Auqaf Department has earmarked a grant of Rs.11.25lakh as dowry fund, which is distributed at the rate of Rs.15,000 per person each month. Begum Zakia Shahnawaz, addressing the meeting of the Dowry Fund Committee, said the meeting of the committee was held every month in which applications for dowry fund were received and dowry fund forms were distributed among all the members of the committee.
