Rawalpindi: Chairman Steering Committee, Punjab Sports Board, Muhammad Hanif Abbasi along with MPA Raja Muhammad Hanif Advocate inaugurated the upgradation work of Pindi Football Stadium and installation of floodlights, at Satellite Town here on Monday.
He unveiled the plaque of foundation stone in the presence of representatives of local bodies and sports officials. Divisional Sports Officer Rawalpindi Malik Waqar Ahmed and District Sports Officer Rawalpindi Babar Waheed were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the ceremony, Muhammad Hanif Abbasi said that Rs50 million will be spent on the provision of latest sports facilities in Pindi Football Stadium including fixation of floodlights, development of gym and various other allied sports facilities. He said that Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has provided adequate funds for the provision of basic amenities of life and sports facilities for the youngsters and a number of projects including development of synthetic football grounds at Govt. Postgraduate College for Boys, Satellite Town and Shahbaz Shairf Public Park are going on to facilitate young footballers.
He also informed that development of a latest Park along with sports facilities at 120 kanals of land along Rawal Road is progressing speedily. He said that we are committed to deliver and come up to the expectations of people and within shortest span of time we have accomplished a number of mega development projects in Rawalpindi.
MPA Raja Muhammad Hanif Advocate addressing the ceremony highlighted the salient features of Punjab Government’s developments works in PP-14 and appreciated the dynamic efforts of Muhammad Hanif Abbasi for accomplishing these projects. It was informed that the development work of Pindi Football Stadium will be completed up to the end of February 2018.
