Gianchand’s nomination

Most political parties have nominated their time-tested leaders and loyalists in the Senate elections. The PPP has nominated Engineer Gianchand Meghwar, son of a primary school teacher from a minority community.
The selection of Engineer Gianchand is considered by many as a political miracle. Instead of rhetoric about the rights of minorities by many political leaders, the PPP has proved beyond doubt that it is the only political party that truly cares for the rights of underprivileged and oppressed communities. We should highlight this because the decision shows that Pakistan has a progressive and egalitarian political vision.
