MULTAN: Lawyers on Wednesday succeeded in getting accepted their demand for shifting back district courts from the new Judicial Complex to Kutchery Chowk.
“We have won and Chief Justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar has accepted our demand,” the lawyers’ representatives announced at a sit-in camp set up for the last seven days.
However, they said the sit-in would continue until the issuance of a notification in this regard.
Irfan Haider Shamsi and DBA President Yousaf Zubair said the CJP promised that he would advise the LHC chief justice to notify the shifting.
Earlier, the chief justice held a meeting with lawyers including Multan High Court Bar Association President Sher Zaman Qureshi, MHCBA ex-president Khalid Ashraf, Mehmood Ashraf, District Bar Association President Yousaf Zubair and DBA General Secretary Anis Mehdi at the LHC Multan bench.
The CJP reached Multan by road from Lahore, held a meeting with LHC Multan judges and discussed the courts shifting. Later, he went to the Judicial Complex and examined facilities available there.
