Time to quit

While social media has brought the world closer, it has a downside that cannot be ignored. Since people are far too preoccupied with their social media presence, they don’t give time to their families and friends. Social media has also affected our ability to concentrate on work and has even discouraged us from reading books.

The government should request Facebook to only allow users to set up a profile on the social networking site if they provide a registered contact number. This will ensure that authentic accounts are created. We must also take measures against terrorist organisations that are using social media to recruit impressionable young people. People should use social media in a responsible manner.
