KARACHI: Defending champions WAPDA, Army, Navy, Pakistan Air Force (PAF), Police, Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Pakistan Juniors qualified for the quarter-finals of the 50th National Men’s Seniors Volleyball Championship being held at the POF Wah Sports Complex on Wednesday.
In the quarter-finals, WAPDA will face KP, PAF lock horns with Police, POF meet Navy and Pakistan Juniors clash with Army on Thursday (today).WAPDA defeated POF 3-0 with the set scores of 25-19, 25-14, 25-11 in their Group A outing.
Army overpowered Police 3-0 with the set scores of 25-16, 25-10, 25-11 in their Group D showdown. Navy tamed Azad Kashmir 3-0 with the scores being 25-6, 25-8, 25-21 to qualify for the last-eight stage from Group C.
Pakistan Air Force (PAF) defeated Pakistan Board 25-15, 25-16, 25-18 to ensure their quarter-finals berth from Group B. Police beat FATA 25-16, 25-16, 25-14 to progress from Group D. In other matches, POF beat Sindh 25-18, 25-12, 25-15; KP overpowered AJK 25-15, 25-18, 22-25, 25-20; and Pakistan Juniors whacked Pakistan Board 25-14, 25-19, 17-25, 25-20.
