HANGU: The police seized 24 kilograms of hashish and arrested the drug-pushers during checking in the limits of the City Police Station on Tuesday, an official said.

Talking to reporters, Deputy Superintendent of Police Umar Hayat said that acting on a tip-off regarding the presence of narcotics in a vehicle, the police barricaded road at Begto area and signalled a motorcar (ATA-837) to stop. On thorough search, the police recovered 24kg of hashish from the secret cavities of the vehicle, they added.

He said the law-enforcers also arrested the drug-traffickers identified as Salaam, a resident of Tank, and Muhammad Javed, a resident of Dera Ismail Khan. “Smugglers are the enemies of the country and nation and stern action against them would be taken,” he added.
