Despair in govt circles behind unrest: Siraj
LAHORE : Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Senator Sirajul Haq has said the drama going on in Islamabad is being staged on the directions of government itself. A general attitude of despair in the government circles and rumours of national and technocrat government are causing further unrest among the people, he said in a statement on Saturday.
Sirajul Haq said the OIC would have to go beyond just issuing statements and take practical steps for the liberation of Qibla e Awwal.
He said the eyes of the Muslims all over the world were on Muslim rulers and the OIC. He called for total social and economic boycott of the US and expulsion of US envoys from the Muslim states as this alone could force the US to stop its patronage of Israel.
He said the Palestine issue was not the issue of any individual or party but of entire Muslim world, adding that the Ummah would have to get united on it. He expressed confidence that JI’s Al-Quds march in Karachi on Sunday (today) would be a historic gathering.
Sirajul Haq said the country’s politics and democracy were enslaved because of which there was neither any development nor the problems of the masses were being solved. Pakistan’s politics is subjected to the interests of a few individuals. In fact, he said, there was no democracy worth the name in the political parties which revolved around a few families and individuals.
He said the JI was striving to change the whole system and make politics subservient to the interests of the nation. He said those criticising the decisions of courts wanted to obstruct the rule of the constitution and the law as they could not afford the judiciary to be free.
Now no one can question Imran’s honesty: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) core committee member and former Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar said no one could question the honesty of Imran Khan since he had been declared trustworthy by the Supreme Court.
Addressing a meeting here on Saturday, he said there was no room for corrupt elements in the country. The court decision has proved that only a trustworthy and truthful leadership can liberate country from enslavement of corruption, bad governance and looting. The PTI is united under the leadership of Imran Khan against the corrupt regime, he added. He said an increase of Rs436 billion in foreign debt of the country, due to the devaluation of the rupee, was akin to a drone attack on the national economy. We will make a landmark victory in next general elections, he said.
