The Army Public School massacre was a turning point in the history of Pakistan. However, this was neither the first attack on an educational institutions nor will it be the last. If statistics are to be believed, it appears that attempts to sabotage the education have been quite common in Pakistan.
According to various reports, there have been 867 attacks on educational institutions in Pakistan between 2007 and 2015. These attacks reflect the failure of law-enforcement agencies and the glaring lack of focus on border management by successive governments. The authorities concerned are requested to look into the matter and prevent such attacks.
