The level of corruption in the Sindh government can be judged from the stunted development, impoverishment and social anarchy in the province. The bureaucracy and technocrats have created perks and benefits for their own sake often without the knowledge of the people of the province.
While political graft imposes the largest direct financial cost on the province, petty bribes have a corrosive effect on basic institutions and undermine public trust in the provincial government and its departments – but who cares in a province where there is competition going on in the field of corruption, getting more and more plots, grabbing forest land and other state properties but no competition in showing competence and performance?
