CHARSADDA: The police arrested 64 suspected persons, including 27 proclaimed offenders (POs), in a search and strike operation in Tangi tehsil on Saturday, official sources said. They said that the police launched search operation in various parts of Tangi and arrested 64 suspects, including 27 POs and 13 Afghan nationals living illegally in the area. The police also seized eight Kalashnikovs, seven rifles, 23 pistols, and four kilograms of heroin from them. Man stabbed to death in Dir: A man was stabbed to death and two others sustained injuries when two rival groups clashed over a petty issue in Khall area in Lower Dir district on Saturday, sources said. They said that Adnan and his relatives wanted to dig a well, which their rival resisted. They allegedly stabbed Adnan, Shahzad and Shah Nawaz, the sources added. They were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital in Timergara where Adnan succumbed to his injuries. Following the incident, the locals staged protest and placed the body on the road, blocking it for vehicular traffic. It was learnt that the deceased, Adnan, married just two days ago. The police started an investigation after registering a case against the accused, Imtiaz, Riayat Khan and others. Suspects held in Landikotal: The security forces during search and clearance operation recovered arms and ammunition and arrested two suspects, sources said on Saturday night. The sources said that the security forces carried out search operation in Zakaria Masjid and Sheikhmalkhel areas and recovered one missile, seven rocket launcher rounds and 35 hand-grenades. The security forces also recovered a stolen car. Two suspected persons were also booked and sent them to Landikotal army garrison for investigation, sources said.
