LAHORE : Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Senator Sirajul Haq expressed concern over US President Trump’s designs to accept Jerusalem as Israel’s capital against the wishes of entire Muslim world and shift US embassy in Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
In a statement on Wednesday, he warned that such move could plunge the entire world into flames of war, adding that Washington was playing with fire. Every Muslim considers Jerusalem as the most sacred place next to Makkah and Madina, and has deep love and respect for the ancient city, he added. He said any US step in this direction would have serious consequences. He appreciated the announcements by Turkish President Recep Tayyep Erodgan and Palestinian President Mahmood Abbas rejecting the US decision and said none of the Muslim rulers could support Trumps’ plan.
He urged the world community and justice-loving western and European states to condemn Trump’s plan giving him a clear message that such decision could not be supported. He demanded the Muslim world, especially Pakistan government, to strongly condemn Trump’s designs at the official level and take all possible measures at the international level to foil such move.
Earlier, addressing the participants in an educational exhibition organised by Islami Jamiat e Talaba, Senator Sirajul Haq said Pakistan’s future was in the hands of its youth who was Islam-loving, patriotic and highly intelligent. Sirajul Haq said if any one betrayed Pakistan ideology, the hands of youth would be upon his throat.
He said the ousted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had raised the slogans of liberalism and secularism although these were not his slogans as he only wanted to please the US and India. He said as soon as there was a plot to amend the laws regarding Khatme Nubuwwat, the people all over the country rose up against it which proved their love for Islam and the Holy Prophet (PBUH). He said in 1971, Pakistan was broken up as a result of an international conspiracy. Once again, there was a conspiracy to further divide the country’s geography and an attempt to distract the people from the Pakistan ideology, he added.
The JI chief alleged that after establishment of Pakistan, power went into the hands of those who had betrayed their own nation and in exchange of that they were granted big Jagirs by the British rulers. He said these people had been ruling the country for the last 70 years. He alleged they were the agents of international establishment and were advancing the agenda of their foreign masters.
Sirajul Haq said corruption to the tune of Rs 12 billion was taking place in the country every day. He said if this corruption was controlled, a standard university like Punjab University could be established daily. He demanded that all the people named in the Panama leaks be debarred from contesting elections till they were cleared by the courts.
