WAPDA win All Pakistan Gold Cup Volleyball

KARACHI: WAPDA defeated Navy 3-1 to win All Pakistan Gold Cup Volleyball Tournament at the Municipal Sports Complex in Kamalia on Monday.
The set scores were 25-15, 23-25, 25-23, 25-23. In the first set, WAPDA shattered Navy’s defences, sealing a comfortable win.However, in the remaining three sets Navy offered tough resistance to their rivals.
Navy had beaten Pakistan Under-20s 3-1 in the first semi-final. WAPDA had defeated Police 3-0 in the second with the set scores of 25-15, 25-13, 25-22. Police overpowered Pakistan Under-20 3-1 to get the third position. The scores remained 25-27, 25-13, 25-22, 25-19.
Chairman Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF) Chaudhry Yaqoob distributed prizes. Pakistan’s captain Naseer Ahmed of WAPDA was declared the best player of the tournament.Mubashir Reza of Navy was adjudged as the best smasher, Asif Nadeem of Navy the best booster and Nasir Ali of WAPDA, the best libero.
