CHARSADDA: The district administration Thursday reopened four state-run schools that were closed due to dispute between the landowners and Education Department since long.
Taking exception to the closure of schools, the district administration and officials of the Education Department backed by heavy contingents of police during an action in Umarzai, Utmanzai and Battagram areas reopened the schools.
The owners were of the opinion that they had donated their precious piece of land for the construction of schools and thus the Education Department should provide job to one of the family members.
The owners had closed down the school after the Education Department failed to meet their demands. Later the students enrolled on these schools and other teaching staff were shifted to nearby schools. Taking note of the situation the Education Department and district administration reopened the schools.Three other state-run schools in the district were also closed by the owners on the same reason due to which the future of hundreds of students was hanging in the balance.
