Khadim Hussain, Afzal Qadri booked for allegedly torturing constables

RAWALPINDI: A case has been registered against chief of Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan Khadim Hussain Rizvi, Afzal Qadri and their companions on the charges of torturing three constables of Punjab Constabulary after kidnapping. Inspector Nadeem Abbas Khan of PC Rawat told New Town Police Station that he was deputed as reserve on November 25 at Faizabad with other security officials who were deployed at different places. Constables Ghulam Safeer, Farhan Zafar and Hazoor Akram were deployed near Metro Bus Station. He said that enraged protesters entered Metro Station by breaking the iron fence and they were pushed back with great difficulty but three above mentioned constables were missing when the contingent was checked. Inspector Nadeem said that Constable Farhan Zafar told him that about three hundred protesters tortured them after kidnapping and presented them before Afzal Qadri. He said that their boxes of teargas, gun shells, anti-riot purses and mobiles were snatched and they ran away from there in injured condition and reached PIMS. He said that they were tortured on the provocation of Afzal Qadri and Maulana Khadim Hussain Rizvi. He said they were kept in habeas corpus.
